Carmit Natan – soprano

BildCarmit graduated from the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance with Prof. Efrat Ben Nun and Dr. Ido Ariel in 2012. She is currently a Masters student at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, specializing in early music repertoire in the class of prof. Gerd Türk.

As a soloist, Carmit performed Bach (Johannes Passion, Magnificat and various cantatas), Faure (Requiem), Masses by Bach, Haydn, Poulenc and Rossini, Carissimi (Jephte), Vivaldi (Magnificat), Händel (Alexander’s Feast, Dixit Dominus), Lulier (Weihnachtsoratorium) and M. A. Charpentier (Le malade imaginaire) among others.

Recently she participated in a concert presenting newly discovered cantatas by Alessandro Stradella, with Maestro René Jacobs.

In the upcoming months she will take part in the IV Professional Training Academy with Maestro Jordi Savall.

During her studies at the Jerusalem Academy, Carmit was awarded a prize at the vocal department competition (2011).

Her Operatic roles include Purcell’s Fairy Queen, the Dew Fairy in Hänsel and Gretel (Humperdinck) and Sandrina in La Finta Giardiniera (Mozart).

Carmit has performed as a soloist with various orchestras, conducted by Rinaldo Alessandrini, Andrew Parrott, Nicolas Krüger, Yaron Gottfried, Stanley Sperber, David Shemer and Yuval Ben Ozer.

She Participated in Masterclasses with Alessandro De Marchi, Roberto Gini, Antonella Gianese, Ashley Solomon, Margreet Honig, Andreas Scholl, Anthony Rooley, Evelyn Tubb, Simone Kermes, and Jeanette Favaro-Reuter.

Carmit is a member of the novantik project basel and the Zürcher Sing-Akademie.
