Efrain Oscher learned the flute as part of ”El Sistema” in Valencia, Venezuela. He was member of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Carabobo and principal flute of the Orquesta Municipal Ciudad de Valencia. He researched intensively in the Venezuelan traditional music finding a great source of compositional material. His compositions have been played and broadcasted by artists like Edicson Ruiz, Pacho Flores, Simon Bolivar Orchestra, etc.
In 2003 Efrain completes with Merits a postgraduate course with William Bennett at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he was given the Benjamin Dale award. He has performed in major festivals like the Bath International Music Festival and the English Chamber Orchestra Young Artist Series. Currently living in Germany, Efrain performs, records and broadcasts with his musical projects Bolivar Soloists, Flautango and El Cruzao as well as guest in other groups.
